Montseny Natural Park
If you need some fresh air, which can sometimes be difficult in the city, the Montseny Natural Park might be one of your best day trip destinations from Barcelona. This fantastic nature spot is formed by the crest of Turó de l'Home (1,706 metres), Les Agudes (1,703 metres), Matagalls (1,697 metres) and the plain of La Calma (Drau mountain, 1,344 metres). It is crossed by the rivers Congost, Tordera and Riera Major. This combination means that the greenery is rich and home to abundant fauna.

This destination near Barcelona includes the megalithic constructions of the Arca mountain range, the Roman villa of Can Terrers, many medieval churches, numerous castles, fortified farmhouses of Bellver and La Sala, the Tagamanent complex and the hermitage of Sant Segimon.

Wine o’clock
Catalunya is a wine region; it might not be as famous as others, but that makes it even more special because its quality is beyond excellent.

There are many vineyards to visit as part of Barcelona’s surrounding region destinations, but possibly the Priorat area and the Penedès region, with their unique production and cava signature, will make wine lovers delights.
Güell colony
Eusebi Güell was a Catalan businessman and one of the main patrons of Catalan Modernism; he, in fact, ordered Antoni Gaudí, the biggest name of the movement, to design and build this industrial colony on the outskirts of Barcelona in 1890.

As a perfect one-day excursion from Barcelona, visiting this Güell colony will be satisfying and less crowded than the Sagrada Familia, a building with a big resemblance to Gaudí’s crypt of the colony. Alongside them, this space also is home to buildings by Francesc Berenguer and Joan Rubió.
Sant Pol de Mar
Going to the beach can sometimes be tricky in the central Catalonian city; many people are trying to enjoy the seemingly endless sun-and-sea supply.

That is why taking a short day trip destination from Barcelona to Sant Pol de Mar can be a great idea to enjoy a coastal town with charm and clear water that’s got the magic of the Mediterranean encapsulated in its streets, houses and, of course, Modernist buildings.
